Skewen furthered their lead after1 5 mins with another Anthony Busselli penalty

Skewen at this point where controlling the pace of the game well.

After 24 minutes scrum pressure saw No 8 and CaptainEd Price pick up the ball from the base of the scrum and drive into the Wanderers defence, his offload to winger Mathew Billet enabled Skewen to get behind the defence and a quick feed to scrum half James Ball who was racing up on his outside picking the ball up off his toes without breaking step to race to score in the corner .13-0.

A series of penalties kept the Wanderers in the game.13=6

On half time Skewen furthered their lead with a try by full back Gareth Morris.. A strong scrummage in the Wanderers half saw the ball moved to winger Mathew Billet who was able to offload in the tackle to the full back who was steaming up on his outside to race to scoreconverted by Anthony Busselli 20-6.

Despite having the majority and possession Skewen put themselves under pressure by failing to clear their 22 allowing the Wanderers to gain territorial advantage as the final quarter progressed.

Wanderers were able to convert two more penalties keeping them in the game.

Indeed it was the Wanderers who scored a try which converted led to the score being 20-19 going into the last few minutes. In fairness to the Wanderers they threw everything into attack and it was only tremendous defence from Skewen that held the day.

Final Score Skewen 20 Glamorgan Wanderers 19

Overall a good performance by both backs and forwards working of a solid set piece. However the lesson to be learned is at this level you have to play for 80 minutes as sides will take every opportunity you give them to score. Relaxing when in the lead is not an option.
