Half Time Skewen 16 Dunvant 14

Poor discipline by the Skewen pack just after half time saw three penalties in quick succession being converted from the half way line by Adam Williams Parry to take the score to 16 -23

Skewens second try came in the 20th minute of the second half. A penalty on the half way line saw Anthony Busselli kick to touch inside the Dunvant 22. A clean take by second row Ollie Thompson set up a rolling maul which crossed the line for Captain Edward Price to score near to the post. The conversion attempt by Anthony Busselli failed leaving the score nail bitingly close at 21-23

With 4 minutes to go Skewen were awarded a penalty outside the Dunvant 22 which was converted by Anthony Busselli giving Skewen the lead 24-23.

Again poor discipline by the Skewen forwards around their 22 when defending a final flurry of attacks gave Dunvant 2 penalty attempts at goal in the final seconds which fortunately for Skewen were both unsuccessful.

Final Score Skewen 24 Dunvant 23

A keenly contested game with both sides attempting to play attractive football. Dunvant were able to capitalise on a number of unforced Skewen errors in both attack and defence to score both their tries and indiscipline by Skewen forwards saw a number of successful penalties and fortunately 2 unsuccessful kicks at gaol which might have turned the score around. On a positive note the Skewen scrum and lineout which at times last week faltered was strong and provided a good platform for the backs.
